Logistics in shunting traffic: the zedas®cargo functions
Step by step through the value creation process – zedas®cargo unites and supports your operational and commercial processes.
With zedas®cargo, you increase the efficiency of factory and connecting railway operational processes, simplify internal and external communication and reliably handle jobs. The tried and tested standard software for shunting traffic optimally combines all processes and consistently supports planning, scheduling and invoicing. You can always keep an eye on all of the key parameters for efficient rail logistics. You can integrate various business units, customers and peripheral systems directly into the logistics process via interfaces.
Clear Gantt diagrams (drag and drop) support shift planning for locomotives and personnel. The software automatically checks applicable working time regulations and collective agreements, as well as employees’ qualifications and authorisations. You can react flexibly to deviations from the planning.
If desired, and in collaboration with our customers, we implement intelligent tools for the automation and optimisation of shift planning. Planners and dispatchers benefit from significant time savings, resources are used in a more efficient and balanced manner. Benefit from the best possible utilisation of capacity and an overall operation, which is cost-efficient and competitive.
With our zedas®cargo industry software, you digitalise and interlink all operational processes in shunting scheduling. You can keep an eye on train arrivals and train departures, shunting movements, loading points, change-over processes and current track occupancy at all times and can optimally manage the processes. You are always informed about the job and wagon status, location, order and technical specifications. Data interfaces also spare the dispatchers the need for time-consuming manual entry and routine work. This saves both time and money.
The procedures in the shunting process which are relevant for invoicing are precisely documented and made available for the invoice. Incomplete services or services which were not recorded can also be added manually if necessary. Invoicing, incl. cancellations and credit entries, occurs after approval. The edited data can be delivered to third-party systems via interfaces upon request.
Mobile applications for tablets and smartphones are a modular part of zedas®cargo and simplify the flow of information and data in the company. Whether it's handling of train arrivals, management of damaged rolling stock or delivery of wagons to loading or unloading points using shunting jobs – all of the key business processes can be consistently managed on the move. Employees can document the processes – generally relevant for invoicing – consistently and independently from the control centre. This minimises time-consuming consultations, records and the error sources associated with this. The mobile application can be used offline and allows for self-sufficient working without a sustained data connection.
