TAF/TCM automatisch und zuverlässig
Comply with mandatory reporting from December 2025 with zedas®cargo
DB InfraGO requires railway undertakings to submit the Train Composition Message (TCM) in accordance with TAF/TAP TSI from the timetable change in December 2025. The aim of the infrastructure manager (EIU) is to use current train data to improve forecasting and scheduling and to make rail operations throughout Germany more efficient. For railway undertakings (RUs), however, this means additional work: train data must be transmitted seamlessly and in real time. With the zedas®cargo TAF service, ZEDAS provides its customers with a solution that automatically generates and sends TCM messages – without manual input.
Increasing requirements due to TAF/TCM
As things stand today, the train schedule data from the train path application still forms the basis for infrastructure planning. From December 2025, the update of train data (actual train characteristics) via TAF/TCM will become mandatory for railway companies. The railway undertaking will then transmit current train and wagon data, e.g. the length and weight of the entire train, in a standardised digital format. For railway undertakings with a large number of services or cross-border transports in particular, this will result in considerable additional work with a high risk of errors if the web platform provided by DB InfraGO with manual input is taken into consideration.
zedas®cargo TAF Service
The zedas®cargo TAF Service handles the data exchange between railway undertakings and EIU. All relevant train and wagon data is automatically transferred to the required TCM notification and transmitted. This is based on the planning and scheduling of regular and ad hoc services in the logistics software.
This results in clear advantages for railway companies:
- Efficiency: No additional manual effort thanks to automatic reporting, even if train characteristics change again.
- Error-free: Direct data transfer from zedas®cargo prevents transmission and input errors.
- Legal compliance: Fulfilment of all relevant TAF TSI requirements.
- Future-proof: Regular updates and continuous adaptation to new EU requirements.
A secure future with ZEDAS
Since 2012, zedas®cargo has had standard interfaces based on the TAF TSI standard (e.g. train running information, train delay cause, etc.). In consultation with our customers and in accordance with current and future regulations, we are constantly expanding this process. With the zedas®cargo TAF service, you can secure a significant efficiency advantage in your operational business and be well prepared to meet the requirements from December 2025 without any manual effort.
