Neusser Eisenbahn goes for zedas®cargo

Neusser Eisenbahn is a rail freight traffic and public railway infrastructure company, that combines engagement, modern logistics and know how to offer their customers a wide portfolio containing shunting services, wagon inspections, maintenance of the freight wagons and the Europe-wide development of logistics concepts. To handle this complex set of tasks the Neusser Eisenbahn decided already in December 2008 for our solution zedas®cargo: In the future the solution will support the effective controlling, monitoring and accounting of operational processes in the long-haul and on-site traffic. In addition to that the modules resource management and order management will support daily processes.

The mobile solution is one of the highlights, integrating the locomotive and shunting staff as well as the wagon master in the processes of the long-haul and on-site traffic. Furthermore required data for the service can be changed by interfaces to Railion, RWE Power, HGK and the container terminal. The integrated fleet manager monitors the time limit of locomotives and wagons, documents damages and enables the allocation of operational performance data. The project includes interfaces to the operating systems as well as to the track scale.

In the future zedas®cargo will enhance the work efficiency, transparency, planning reliability and cost controlling. “Especially the use of modern and trendsetting technologies in conjunction with the mobile solution has been convincing. With zedas®cargo we can fill the gap of the previous solution and better support our staff regarding the operational management and accounting of the traffics.” sums up Birgit Thienel, group manager of the Neusser Eisenbahn.
