Improved chemical logistics due to integrated IT solution for railway logistics by PC-Soft

To deal with the increasing amount of goods on the railway and the demands of rail customers even more successfully, Chemion Logistik – logistics partner to the chemical industry – has put together a demanding package of measures, the core element of which includes a new IT system. The customer specification stipulated an integrated solution which fulfils the following requirements:

•    Integrated mapping of the customer order process in shunting and railway traffic
•    Higher transparency and faster communication channels
•    Reduction of employee stress through process automation
•    Short project terms by using standard software

In a strong competitive environment, PC-Soft has established itself with a combination of demand-based software functionality, extensive railway knowledge, attractive prices and a high-performance maintenance and support package. The zedas®cargo software for logistics management will be implemented in the upcoming 6 months.

In the future, the solution will link the business processes of order management with those of operative procedures and billing. Status information about orders will be taken directly from the actual data of the shunting and railway journeys, enabling prompt customer information and billing.

Interfaces to customers (transportation orders), to involved railway companies (advance order and train notifications), to infrastructure operators (track scales & rail brakes) and to service accounting (SAP® module) will help to minimise manual procedures and increase the quality of service.

We look forward to working successfully with you in the future!
