Assisted Reality Glasses for optimised vehicle maintenance

08.10.18 | On the occasion of this year's InnoTrans, ZEDAS and iSAX presented live an innovative assisted reality solution for servicing and maintenance of vehicles and systems. Assisted reality enables display of information describing, supporting or simplifying the working process in the field of view of the observer. Well-known examples for this technology include data glasses or smart glasses mainly used in industrial applications.
At InnoTrans, ZEDAS and iSAX presented the opportunities of this still young technology by means of data glasses. The presentation covered a maintenance scenario with check lists for swing doors on trains. The service technician is visually guided step by step through the working process. If required, additional remote support can be requested or supporting elements like images and videos can be displayed. This enables relief of staff, increase in productivity and reduction of faults. Visitors were particularly impressed by the simple control functions by voice commands.
ZEDAS was once more able to prove the technological maturity of their zedas®asset software solution for targeted digitalisation of the servicing of railway vehicles and infrastructure. The Assisted Reality Glasses are the next step of the software provider after their mobile solution for optimum connection of servicing and maintenance processes.
