ART Altmann Rail Traction relies on zedas®cargo for international rail operations

ZEDAS digitises core operations of ARS Altmann Group's RU

With its decision to implement the zedas®cargo Long Haul software solution, ART Altmann Rail Traction GmbH, a subsidiary of ARS Altmann AG, will digitise its entire rail business in future – from planning and execution to billing of train services. The choice fell on ZEDAS due to its comprehensive range of functions, the flexibility of the system and its proven interface competence, which enables seamless integration into existing system landscapes.

With an annual turnover of around 350 million euros and over 3.75 million vehicles transported, ARS Altmann AG is one of the leading providers in European automotive logistics. ART Altmann Rail Traction GmbH was founded to expand the portfolio of ARS Altmann AG. In future, ART will expand its activities along international rail connections, including between Germany, Austria and Italy, and is also preparing to acquire its own RU licences in other European countries.

Digitalisation along the rail production chain

With zedas®cargo Long Haul, ART will in future control all rail production processes centrally and digitally – from order management and resource planning to operational management, documentation and billing. The solution is ideally suited for the planned international expansion: country-specific requirements, such as different cost rates, qualifications, working time regulations and brake calculations, can be mapped completely in the system.

The rail-specific ERP will be supplemented in future by the mobile solution Train Check. Employees create train compositions with the app directly at the loading points of the car factories using AI-based wagon number recognition. This ensures greater transparency and efficiency right from the start of the transport chain.

The central destination is to ensure a smooth flow of information between departments and customers – while maintaining high employee satisfaction through intuitive usability and efficient processes. With ZEDAS, ART has a digitalisation partner at its side that supports these destinations with well-thought-out solutions and close cooperation.
