What must be particularly observed when using mobile applications?

What's crucial is the user's experience of working with a mobile solution:

  • Do they receive all the information required for their work correctly at the right time?
  • Can they trust the information?
  • How easy is it to access the information?
  • How easy is it to use with special conditions of use (operating wearing gloves, sun reflection, battery life, legibility of letters on the display)?
  • How easy is it to use the software?
  • Can they identify and reset certain conditions (errors) in the software?
  • Can they identify their language and terms in the application?
  • Are there boundary conditions that have to be separately observed (battery life, connection display, authentication)?
  • Does the work lead to noticeably easier work?

The management board's experiences are just as relevant:

  • Is a measurable return of investment achieved?
  • Do business processes prove to be more effective?
  • Is the information quality so good that the quality of decisions is improved?
  • Stand alone solutions are insufficient!

System administration experiences - is the mobile solution:

  • Reliable and can it be integrated into the existing IT infrastructure
  • Stable and free of errors
  • Easy to restore
  • Protected against losses

What does this mean for a mobile application?

  • Works offline and online
  • Is simple, clear and logical to use
  • Improved low bandwidth communication
  • Takes conditions of use into account (operating wearing gloves, sun reflection, battery life, legibility of letters on the display, weight)
  • Software application is largely separated from data communication
  • Transfer and comparison of information largely in the background
