ENNA Transport successfully puts zedas®cargo and zedas®asset into productive operation

Digitalisation push for one of the largest private freight railway operators in South-East Europe

Enna go liveENNA Transport commenced productive operation with the rail-specific software suite comprising zedas®cargo and zedas®asset on 1 September 2025. With a market share of more than 20 per cent in national rail freight transport, the Croatian company is thus consistently driving forward its digitalisation in the European network. The go-live marks a decisive milestone on the path to integrated, data-based logistics and maintenance processes.

Parallel operation successfully replaced

ENNA Transport has already been working with the new system under real conditions for the past few months. With the official go-live, the previously necessary parallel operation of various legacy systems has been discontinued. The formerly heterogeneous IT landscape – a network of individual applications that were not fully integrated – has now been replaced by a centralised, standardised solution. This reduces manual duplication of work and creates clear, uniform data flows.

First effects visible: confidence in data increases

The complete introduction is gradually easing the burden on day-to-day operations. This is particularly evident in the area of human resources and time accounting: after two months of productive use, the processes are stable, reliable and accepted. Further effects will follow once all reporting functions have been expanded in detail. Until now, evaluations were often compiled manually from various documents. With the new solution, primary data and automated reports will be available in future – providing a basis for greater transparency, faster decisions and reliable control parameters.

Integrated asset management

In addition to zedas®cargo, ENNA Transport relies on zedas®asset for the maintenance of its vehicle fleet. The software ensures ECM-compliant deadline management, reliable documentation and efficient resource planning for workshop processes. The continuous flow of data between logistics and asset management creates a uniform picture of vehicle conditions and availability.

Technical highlight: Interface to the new Rijeka terminal

A special feature of the launch is the new interface to the container terminal in the port of Rijeka, which is being built in collaboration with Maersk. Integration has been completed and will now move on to the next stage of implementation. This will digitally connect a central hub on the Adriatic Sea – an important lever for significantly more efficient processes along the maritime supply chain.

Outlook: Rollout in other countries

ENNA Transport plans to introduce zedas®cargo in its subsidiaries in Hungary and Serbia as well. Both markets have country-specific requirements – from Cyrillic document formats in Serbia to language-related system adaptations in Hungary. These enhancements will further expand the use of the software suite and strengthen international process harmonisation.

Strong partnership

The collaboration between ENNA Transport and ZEDAS is characterised by close coordination, a high level of commitment and a shared understanding of the importance of data quality in a growing logistics network. Both companies are working closely together to further professionalise the digitalisation of rail logistics in South-East Europe.
