Implementation of train running data in real time according to TAF TSI with zedas®cargo 3.0

The internationalisation of the railway business and the consequent opening up of the markets for a large number of transport providers present an increased need for the coordination of operations. The Train Information System (TIS) ensures more transparency by regulating the exchange of information between infrastructure operators, railway companies, companies in intermodal transport and other providers.

PC-Soft is the first company in the market to provide its product zedas®cargo with a standard interface to the TIS system on the basis of TAF TSI. Our customer already uses the TIS interface and is thus able to automatically integrate train running data across national borders into zedas®cargo in real time. Via reporting points the information is processed in the TIS system directly from the systems of the participating infrastructure operators (e.g. DB Network, SBB Infra, RFI, etc.), transferred to zedas®cargo, and allows the continuous tracking of trains from origin to destination. Delays or interruptions to operations and their causes are shown in real time. On the basis of stored criteria, customers and transport partners automatically and promptly receive an email report about actual train runs. In addition, collected data is directly processed further in the areas of quality assurance and order settlement.

The particular advantage of the standard TIS interface: no need for separate interfaces to the respective infrastructure operators.
