Successful InnoTrans 2018 for ZEDAS
Fair finish with a record number of visitors
27.09.18 | Not only the InnoTrans as a whole, but also the ZEDAS fair stand saw a record number of trade visitors. ZEDAS GmbH presented itself and its world firsts to the trade audience in Berlin at the joint stand of the states of Berlin-Brandenburg in the CityCube. With more than 250 conversation partners, the fair stand was once again better attended than at the past InnoTrans 2016. The product highlights relating to software for asset management and rail logistics impressed visitors at five work stations. Informative and professional discussions took place on the solution and possible projects with the visitors from 22 countries.
World Firsts at the ZEDAS Stand
A functional highlight of the Asset Management solution zedas®asset and at the same time a world premier is the Invest Manager – for the simplification of the planning of requirements and investments for asset maintenance and procurement over the next 20 to 30 years in railway undertakings and infrastructure companies. “The system-specific maintenance history, with master, cost and condition data, and the preventive measures preview in the zedas®asset asset management system provide an excellent basis for the determination of requirements for the future. The user can vary the data for each asset according to their own wishes. The use of freely selectable factors to modify the planned costs helps to model and forecast the future influences on the investments as objectively as possible. Comparative consideration and simplified decision-making can be realised through the generation of multiple planning scenarios”, explains Dr. Peter Engel, Director of Conception and Development of zedas®asset.
The Assisted Reality Glasses for the supporting of the maintenance personnel on vehicles, including a live demo, were a further highlight at the fair stand. With the support of its partner iSAX GmbH & Co. KG, ZEDAS shows a maintenance scenario for swing doors on trains.
In the area of rail logistics, with the solution zedas®cargo, the world premier of the new optimising solution takes centre stage. This highlight is entirely focused on lightening the workload of the staff planner and increasing employee satisfaction. With this new solution, the planning process for personnel placement, shift sequences, and locomotive tours is both automated and optimised by intelligent algorithms. All services are independently identified and allocated by the software in accordance with the legal and collectively agreed provisions, taking employee preferences into account. In the event of absences or changes, the solution generates alternative planning proposals for a quick reaction to operational events.
“I am already looking forward to the next fair in 2020, which is bound to surpass this year’s record figures,” says Ulrike Gollasch, Marketing Manager of ZEDAS GmbH. This expectation ties in with the enormous global attention attracted by the fair and the opportunities for networking with experts from all parts of the railway industry. ZEDAS GmbH is already looking forward to the next InnoTrans – the trade fair highlight of the year 2020.
