Assistance-based maintenance with zedas®asset

Digital assistant zedas®asset Touch especially for the railway workshop

zedas®asset Touch helps to digitise the previous paper-based maintenance documentation in the workshop. Repair and maintenance orders are documented directly on the tablet in an ECM-compliant manner. During the processing of orders, material consumption and the completion of maintenance measures are simply reported back on the mobile device. The intuitive user interface, assistance-based workflows and checklists make it easy for even inexperienced workshop employees to enter all necessary data without errors. The goal is to digitise maintenance documentation in simple steps from the very beginning. The entries flow into the zedas® Asset Management System in real time and are available for follow-up orders or operational releases. There are no media discontinuities or duplicate work and no congestion during order feedback.

Augmented reality for intelligent maintenance

With the augmented reality (AR) application, the maintenance technician in the workshop is guided step by step through the maintenance process. Clearly defined workflows specify the exact sequence and positions at which the work steps are to be carried out. The AR application also displays the measured values, limit values or circuit diagrams associated with the component being worked on. The workshop employee receives further support in the maintenance process through drawings, documents, photos and videos that are displayed in the context of the maintenance task. The digital assistance system also guarantees that the maintenance technician is specifically pointed to safety-relevant components in order to meet the high safety standards that apply in the railway industry. The AR application helps to increase the reliability of service and maintenance processes and reduce the risk of errors.

Smart logistics management with zedas®cargo

AI-supported train dispatching

In order to reduce manual input processes in logistics management, ZEDAS has developed an AI-based wagon number recognition system for rail freight transport companies. As a key technology, the wagon number recognition has been integrated into the Train Check app of zedas®cargo. Train Check is an easy-to-use app for the paperless train dispatching directly on the train. If the camera is pointed at the wagon area with the UIC wagon number, the AI automatically recognises and analyses the text characters and checks the recognised UIC number. No further symbols such as QR- or barcode are necessary for this. With the identified wagon number, the app then retrieves the technical wagon master data via the GCU Broker (TAF interface) and imports it into the Train Check app.

ECM-compliant documentation

The verification according to the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779 is done automatically with zedas®asset ECM. The performing personnel, used materials and resources, the required time and measured values are documented in an audit-proof manner as part of the order processing. Personnel and equipment are managed directly in the system. The validity of qualifications and certificates can be monitored.
